Ken Copeland was born at Lubbork, Texas on December 6, 1939. He was the founder of a Christian Organization called Kenneth Copeland Ministries. Ken had converted to Christianity on November 1962 and was a well known author, speaker and a televangelist.
Before his conversion to Christianity, Ken Copeland was a recording artist of partial Native American decent. His performances like his works of Billboard appeared in the top 40 hits. His work "Pledge of Love" made a place in the top 40's on Apr 20, 1957 and continued there for about eight weeks. A 12th rank was the highest level it could reach.
After conversion he worked hard on Christian Ministry works. He was the chauffeur for Oral Roberts in the 1960s. Later he did get an enrollment at Oral Roberts University which is located in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Oral Roberts University Boards of Regents was one of the board formed at Oral Roberts University with Ken Copeland being its main member till 2008. Later on a different board came up which assured a higher standards of financial accountability. Why God Doesn’t Always Answer Our Prayers?
After graduating college, my husband Tim and I served as missionaries in Africa for a few years. Many times throughout my life I have reflected back to the experiences I had and the lessons that I learned during the time we were there.
Tim and I had some friends who were also working as missionaries and we had a trip planned to visit with them. Where we lived and in those days a trip like this was a major undertaking. We had never made the drive and there were no road signs or traffic lights to help us find the way. No gas stations to fuel up or to get directions if we missed a turn.
We filled up the car with everything that we needed to take. We made sure to have enough gas to get there and back, because there was nowhere to buy it along the way. Not too long after we left home we started to have some problems with the care.
Tim tinkered with the engine but it didn't help. We prayed and asked the Lord for wisdom to know how to fix it so we could make it to our destination. We had really been looking forward to this trip. It became obvious that we couldn't make it another hundred miles since the car would go no more than 25 miles per hour, so we turned around and limped home. I was confused and disappointed. Why God hadn't answered our prayer?
After returning home we had a mechanic check out the car. He was amazed at what he found and he told us we were lucky to be alive! The gas line was leaking right down into the engine and he couldn't believe that the engine hadn't exploded already. If we had made the rest of the trip, tragedy would have almost certainly happened.
This news was a huge shock to us! God knew much better than we did, and he chose to protect us despite our prayers to continue on the trip. He helped us to think clearly enough to make the decision to turn around, and that probably saved our lives.

How To Help People By Listening
You've heard the saying, "Talking is sharing. Listening is caring," haven't you? I saw it on a sign in front of a church a couple of years ago, and it caught my eye. In the last few weeks, I've seen it again several times. I'm not sure who first said it, but it really is true.
In one of the devotionals that I sent out to my subscriber list I wrote about a rough time in my life that I was going through and how God's Word had been a great comfort to me. When I wrote that devotional I had no idea that I would get such a warm response from readers. I had calls from friends and emails from readers that I don't even know personally. Many of them told me that they were there for me if I wanted to talk to someone.
Just knowing that they took the time to email or call, and that they cared how I was doing, really meant a lot to me. By doing that I knew that my friends and readers had truly listened to the message of my devotional, and they cared enough to show it.
The world we live in is always hectic and busy, and it's easy for us to have trouble listening to others. We tend to get distracted by what is going on and by the concerns in our own lives and we don't stop to think about how we can help others just by listening. Most of us our guilty of this, but it is something that we can work on.
When you listen to someone else it shows that you care and that you value them. You show that you care enough to give them your time and attention, and that can mean a lot. Listening helps to build stronger, deeper relationships, and it brings two people closer together. By listening to others we can show them God's love.
Throughout the Gospels, we see the Lord Jesus listening to people and their needs. In John 3, Jesus listened to Nicodemus, a prominent and righteous, Jewish leader who questioned Him about His teachings and His miracles.
Not too long after speaking with Nicodemus, we read of a well known story where Jesus talked and listened to a sinful woman while she was getting water from a well. This woman would not have been considered worthy for most of the leaders of that day to pay her any attention, but Jesus did. He wasn't concerned with things like wealth, status, gender, He was there for people that needed Him. This gives us a terrific model that we should be following.

Divine Dreams Conformity
To sleep perchance to dream. Dreams happen to everyone almost every night. But there are people who experience supernatural encounters in the format of dreams. These encounters can happen in many different level of intensity. God choose His way to communicate with people according to His sovereignty. Our responsibility is to recognize His voice and follow His way. While divine dreams happen in many different manners, there exist some common points which we could use to recognize the true divinely inspired dreams like their conformity.
The content and the message in a divine dream must conform to the messages in the Bible. If the message of the dream is a prophecy, then the prophecy must conform to the event that happens in the future. This is the conformity of dreams from God.
Sometimes dreams may even come with supernatural phenomenon, signs, wonders or accurate predictions. But as long as the dream contradicts the written word of God, we must be clear that it was not from God. This is well illustrated in Deuteronomy chapter 13. The law even commands to execute such person who dreams dreams with signs and wonders but speak contradicting messages to God's word.
We see nowadays, many people stand on the stage and claim themselves to be prophets. They speak 'prophecies' which most of the time are meaningless or so general that they could mean anything. But in fact according to bible teachings, like in Deuteronomy chapter 18 and Jeremiah chapter 23, if someone speaks a prophecy respecting some future incident, the incident must turn out exactly as the prophecy described. Otherwise, the man is a false prophet and he deserves a death sentence.
The Lord is the God of the most high. We must be careful in saying something is or is not from Him. Misusing the name of God is the number two commandment from God, next to the commandment of having only one God, the Lord. We must test every dream with biblical principles to avoid confusion. But we must be careful not try to put God in a box. We should open our hearts to God, because He can communicate with us with many different ways.
It is our responsibility to discern prophecies and revelations. But we must not be extreme and try to limit the work of God with manmade principles. It is important that we do not casually claim a dream to be a divine one from God. It is as important not to judge someone else and say that their dreams were not from God. Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. substance: or, ground, or, confidence. It creates tension in our existence. It also creates tension in our discernment of prophetic dreams. We must be cautious and at the same time open to God.

Crucifixion, or being put to death on two beams that formed a cross, was the ultimate punishment in Roman days. Being crucified hurt a lot, and the pain went on for a very long time.
A person who was executed on a cross was usually paying the price for a capital crime or committing a serious offense, and it was the greatest penalty a person could receive. It is thus important to remember the picture that a cross would convey - a picture of ultimate pain and suffering on earth.
Even in contemporary terms, crucifixion still stands out as uniquely cruel. There are many current newspaper reports of people being tortured or subject to brutal interrogation techniques, but few of these reports compare to the pain and suffering one would be subject to on the cross.
Stripped, suffering wounds from beatings, nailed to coarse wood with arms and legs mutilated, exposed to elements and creatures, and hanging for hours or even days until your life slowly left you is an image that haunts the imagination in any time or society. Such punishment is or should be reserved for a person full of evil, a person who has defiled and mutilated humankind without remorse. In other words, a person who has forfeited their role as part of the human family.
In contrast, punishing a just person, someone who healed and guided people, someone who demonstrated love to everyone, would be the ultimate injustice carried out, and an apparent triumph of evil. The victory of the cross is easy to miss.
Yet it is not just the victory over evil that Christians celebrate on the cross, but the great gift of a loving father, our father. He who desired to show his love for us, to forgive us for all our transgressions, sacrificed his blameless son so that one day we could all know of his love and draw closer to him.
The cross was also a reminder for all Romans, a very serious warning, to steer clear of the same mistakes or they as well would face the same penalty. Publicly displaying the cross was a deterrent against future felonies or at any rate it was supposed to be. Instead, it came to be quite a motivator for all those belonging to the church to take up their own crosses and tell the world of this violence committed against God's only son.
What Christians must recall is that wearing a crucifix does not make one sanctified or protect that person from harm. The purpose of the crucifix is to serve as an individual reminder. It is a reminder of God's love for humankind and his greatest sacrifice. It also reminds us of the sin within us that, if not checked, could go on a rampage and slay all things pure in its path.
