If one is to ask a Latter Day Saints follower which is of the Mormon religion if they are Christian their answer will be yes. Their stance on this is that they do worship Christ and they have an obligation to follow him. That they are baptized in his name and that they do take part of holy communion and that they are bound to remember the sacrifice of his life. They do pray to the Father in his name and they do make every effort to obey the teachings of Christ. They will tell you that they believe he is the living Christ, the son of God and that it is the way it is said in the old and New Testament and as well as their own book which is the book of Mormon also referred to as another Testament of Jesus Christ.

How can you be a Christian – Don’t you believe you are saved by works. Don’t you deny the basic truth of the trinity?

There is always been a speculation that the Mormons believed that they are basically saved by good works and this is one of the contentions with Christianity. However some of the Mormons will tell you that know they actually believe that they are saved through grace. It is quite often a play on words when it comes to trying to understand Mormonism. For example Christianity believes that the Father, the son and the Holy Ghost are one.

The Mormons will tell you they believe this as well but they will put it in the pretext that they believe they are one in purpose. Another speculation of what Christianity is comes down to where things start to get a little confused. Some believe that if an individual looks to Christ for salvation and seeks to follow him then that’s enough to qualify as a Christian no matter what else that person believes. The Mormons will tell you that is the reason they are judged as being non-Christian because one they believe in keeping the commandments and secondly because they do not accept standard doctrine of the Trinity.

When it comes to keeping the commandments they will often refer to excerpts from the Holy Bible as their stance on this. They will tell you that they are not saved by works but that they must follow Christ in order to be saved. Then they will go on to talk about spiritual death as well the physical death which is what they purport the resurrection of Christ as. When one looks at all of the explanations that the Mormon will stand on they are very close to being what the Bible says with the change of a word here and there. Unfortunately it is the change of the word that changes the entire context of what the Holy Bible as saying in comparison to the Mormon faith.

When it comes to the Trinity which is one of the biggest contentions or differences in Christianity and Mormonism the argument here by the Mormons is that this concept was what man has taught not what Christ and the apostles taught. They will present the many different creeds as their argument as the various creeds all depict the Trinity as something different.

To support their view of the Trinity they will pick out several verses from different parts of the Holy Bible but it must be remembered that the Mormons rely heavily on their own book which is the book of Mormon. Many of the experienced Mormons will agree that some of their doctrines do go against what most of the other churches teach about .They further believe the cause of the attacks from other Christians is because they take the Bible to literally.

The Mormons really put a lot of emphasis on Luke 24 in the Bible regarding the resurrection of Christ and the fact that he is in a flesh and bone state so therefore they believe that because he was resurrected as such that he was resurrected as a flesh and blood. This is also used in their support of the Trinity not being one entity. The Mormons will go on to tell you a great deal about Joseph Smith and his visions. They believe this because the instructions in the New Testament indicate that there are individual circumstances that apply for every individual including Christ.

If one wanted to get an understanding what the Mormons are referring to when it comes to the Trinity he would have to look at each Scripture that they are referring to from the Holy Bible and then do a combination all of these scriptures together to get a true picture.

The concept of reaching dreams and goals through the concept of intention manifestation was once considered a New Age notion, reserved for mystics and gurus. In recent years, the idea that we create our own destiny is becoming a more mainstream concept. As science looks more deeply for answers, the more mystery is discovered. The thought that we can create the life we want has always been appealing; in recent years it is becoming more believable.

Maybe our subconscious mind is playing a larger role in our reality than we once believed. Anything we plan to do in our day, pack a lunch, run an errand, make a phone call, is first played out in our mind’s eye before entering the physical world. It is possible that we are responsible for the deeper and more complicated areas of our lives; with the power of our thinking, we may be shaping our external lives.

Many books have been written on the subject. An early work on the subject is Napoleon Hill’s “Think and Grow Rick” in 1937. This book was the result of studying the lives of hundreds of successful men. A common thread these men shared was the belief in affirmations and a positive attitude. Reading aloud a clear, concise statement of what one wants to achieve, twice a day, is one of the main exercises. This concept of positive affirmations has been carried into our modern times.

This can sound overly simple, and perhaps it it. But for many, the act of taking responsibility for the results in their lives has led to personal empowerment. They have a feeling of success, however they define it. For many, it has nothing to do with material wealth; success is defined as having a full life on their own terms. Taking charge and achieving what one wants from life can be a scary idea, but when it works, it is a positive concept.

For others, happiness and success as they define it remains out of reach. What is the missing element? It seems there must be more to achieving one’s desires than sitting on the couch daydreaming. If it were that simple, we’d all be living the high life. So what is the secret?

Perhaps the idea of destiny, karma, soul lessons all play a part. Perhaps the idea that this is all a random roll of the dice and we are all in the game of life for no deeper meaning is the real truth. No one knows, but to create a happy life in spite of life’s ups and downs is something everyone seems to be searching for.

It could be that we hold the key to our own happiness. Perhaps our best adviser is our own intuition. Certainly developing a positive attitude, even when the chips are down, can help smooth out the rough patches. Even if the world is a random place, there can be some peace in taking responsibility for how we respond to it.

Whatever the trick, mastering the art of intention manifestation is an appealing goal. Even if it teaches us nothing more than to feel better about life under any circumstance, that is a positive thing.

In order to find a great bargain in clergy robes, you need to be able to look into the right places.

In order to find a great bargain in clergy robes, you need to be able to look into the right places.

There are several tips that you can follow if you choose to look for bargain robes over the Internet.

First, you can make use of search engines like Google or Yahoo! All you have to do is type in the proper keywords like clergy robes or church robes and then you can hit the results bar.

Once you have managed to obtain the results, chances are, you should have at least have 100 hits. All you need to do afterwards is pick at least two or three sites. Usually the first two or three websites on top of the list arethe one that’s most visited.

It is best if you go ahead and make sure to check the sites on top first. Chances are they would be the most reliable ones when it comes to online stores that sell robes.

When visiting these sites, it is essential that you ask for a free quote and also ask questions about the robes and what materials are used to make them. Essentially, you can inquire about any important facts that you might want to know about the robes they sell.

If they have satisfied all your questions, you can finally begin comparing prices that you got from the different websites. Afterwards, you can start deciding on which site offers the greatest bargains along with the finest quality.

Once you have decided on a company, a final thing to do is make sure they are legitimate before placing your order for clergy robes.

The church clergy has appointed the clergy robes as official apparel for members of the church. However, the style and design for each robe can vary depending on the denomination or church using it.

For instance, in the Catholic Church, the higher member’s of clergy, like the bishop wear robes that also contain special insignia or other garments.

Some examples for the insignia include the gloves which were used some time after the 12th century. These are usually white or red silk and then the colors for the liturgy are also incorporated.

Another necessary insignia that clergy members from the Catholic Church might have is the rational. This shoulder cloth is created from various materials and serves to distinguish a prominent individual in the church.

Apart from this, another type of robe used by the Syrian Orthodox Church is also distinctive compared to the usual robes found in many Christian denominations. Different types of robes are also worn depending on the occasion and service.

For example, the black robe worn by a priest in the Syrian Orthodox Church is used for most day to day activities. Bishops, on the other hand, wear a red and black robe, together with a red belt.

The type of business or service a clergy man conducts in a particular place would also affect the kind and type of robe they would wear.

When picking out proper clergy robes, make sure that you pick the right one for your church and denomination.

Have you ever wondered about your ability to develop psychic abilities? If you often find yourself dreaming of having some type of special powers or have a natural tendency to know things or sense things others do not pick up on, then chances are you could have a future as a psychic.

One of the most famous psychics of all times was Nostradamus. He had the amazing ability to see into the future and predict things to come for the world. There are other psychics who have a power called “retro cognition.” This is where they can see into the past and know details that others never picked up on. Either way, a psychic looks into the depths of the human mind in an amazing way.

Some people refer to those who develop psychic powers as clairvoyants or second sights today, but it all means the same thing. Many of the psychics who get fame and attention today are those who have the power to communicate with people who have passed away. For instance, Sylvia Brown was a loved guest on the Montel Williams show for many years and John Edwards had his own TV show acting as a medium for loved ones desperate to reach out to someone already dead.

When you go back in history and look for accounts of psychics, you find that they have always been present in society. Unfortunately, they have not always been as well received or accepted as they happen to be today. Ancient Egyptians for example, held psychics who could give the correct guidance to the king in great esteem. It was only when they gave a wrong answer that they really paid the price.

Today psychics offer their services to tell help people better understand their own lives. They help people to find the right careers, the right lovers and to make the right choices. Many people are actually born with the power to be psychic; however many others have developed their psychic powers over a number of years.

If you want to develop psychic powers then you must be committed. Psychic powers do not develop over night. One has to be willing to work hard over a long period of time to truly develop their psychic powers. It starts with a lot of meditation. Meditation is the only way to tap into the subconscious mind.

One of the first things you need to do is start thinking in a positive manner. People who have constant negative thoughts have a hard time tapping into their subconscious. You need to release all of the negativity for your life. Releasing negativity can mean releasing negative thoughts, but it can also mean releasing negative people from your life as well. Surround yourself with people who have a positive influence on your life.

Anyone trying to develop psychic abilities has to practice meditation consistently. Not only does this help train the mind on positive energies, but it teaches you about yourself and allows you to identify your own strengths and weaknesses. Beyond enabling you to develop psychic powers over time, meditation will deliver good health in mind and body.

No one can achieve perfect meditation overnight; even people who have been practicing meditation for many years have a difficult time achieving a perfect meditative state. Like anything else in life, it takes daily practice. To begin with, try meditating for 30 minutes a day. Some people find it is easier to meditate before they go to bed at night and others find it easier to meditate in the morning. There is no perfect time to meditate. Meditate at a time that works well for you.

When it comes to selecting the perfect meditation location, remember that you want to train your mind on all things positive. Do not try to do this when you are surrounded by tension or negative situations. Find somewhere truly relaxing and peaceful; somewhere you associate with good thoughts. This may be outside surrounded by nature for some people, while others prefer the peace and quiet of their own home.

You do not want to entertain any thoughts while you are meditating. This is what most people find extremely difficult, since thoughts are constantly storming through our mind. You want to concentrate on your senses and take those deep breaths, pushing away all thoughts. If there is a sound you hear (even the sound of silence works) or smell something in particular, you can focus in on that sense alone.

You can judge whether this is starting to pay off or not by your level of empathy and deeper connections with other people in your life. Many people who begin to slip into deeper meditative states find that they are more in tune with their loved ones and the world in general.

So really what is the biggest contention between the Christians as the world knows them and the doctrine of the Mormons? Basically what it comes down to is that Mormons do not consider themselves as Christians as this world knows them. Mormons do believe that Christ is the son of God whereas Christians will relate that he is not only the son of God but God himself where as the Mormons break the two into two separate being

According to the Mormons even though Christ is called the Father it does not make him God. They do not deny that he is the author of our salvation as many quotations will be taken from the King James version by the Mormons in respect to Jesus making reference to his Father on a continuous basis.

Why do Mormons believe they are Christians when you don’t accept the Bible as the final authority and rely on writings besides the Bible?

It must be pointed out that it is important for people to realize that the Mormons do not refer to being Christians as the Orthodox Christians of todays world. One may refer to Christians as they were in the New Testament days.

One of the arguments put forth by a Christian is that the Mormons do not rely just on the Holy Bible but on writings aside from this book like that of the Book of Mormon for example. What they will refer is that they believe that part of the Scripture is correct but that some of it has been misconstrued and not translated properly and is also missing some of the teachings. They will ask who knows which Bible is correct or what translation and who makes the interpretation. They will point out that there have been many versions of the Bible written over the years.

So the Mormons argument is that there has been no complete Bible since the end of the apostles and the fact that early Christians did not even have the Bible to rely on at that time as the final word of God. They say that the Bible itself will tell you that it does not lie that it is incomplete and they will also point out that the apostle John was of the same mind according to their interpretation regarding this matter.

Discover the shocking discovery about Mormonism that changed everything. Previously a mormon of 15 years, Simon the member of <noindex>church of jesus christ latter day saints</noindex> reveals secret scriptures for the <noindex>temple lds</noindex>

In Christianity there are two deeply famous commandments. One states to like the neighbor, while the other emphasizes on loving god with all what you have. One may find it quite tough to follow the former commandment. the second is straightforward one to follow for sure. The most vital reason for this is that it is god only who made you part of the planet. Here are few measures that you can adopt to display your love that you have in your heart for the god.

Make an attempt to understand god. This is the 1st basic step that you’re going to need to defeat to go ahead in your endeavor to exhibit your love to god. You can’t love a person if you do not understand the concerned person really well. The same applies for god too. It is for his reason that it’s essential to spare some time for god. Begin with thoroughly doing your spiritual studies. You can always go to a church for the same. Or you may also start with your own studies as well. In fact listening to the sermons as based on bible can take you far in understanding god better.

Once you’ve known God through your studies, you can use all your information to show your love. Start by worshiping him in any way you wish. How you worship does not count, but how much you feel inside certainly does. You can opt to go to church every day or you may need to sing songs and hymns in praise of the almighty. The five necessary parts of showing your love for God include giving, interacting, praying, receiving the Word of the Almighty and singing. Following each of these 5 elements will bring you closer to Him.

Christianity as a religion pressures on the need to give. One can’t avoid the process of giving if they claim to love God. After all it is by God’s blessing that you earn your income and your luxuries. And like with all of the Lord God’s gifts, you have to share these with Him as homage for all the entitlements he has granted you. Not sticking to the law of giving would make you into a Thief of God. By not giving adequately, you nab the Lord and therefore, cannot claim to love him.

Lastly, you need to try and obey the Word of our Lord as much as you can. The bible donates a good range of guidelines on the behavior and code fitting a real Christian. By following these, you’ll be showing your love for God. Not following his words would mean that you don’t care for Him and thereby cannot truly love Him as you must.

So what are you waiting for? Simply utilize the given tips and be sure that you are going to your hook up with the god and hence will simply be able to reflect your attention to the highest power.

To most of us it seems like the Mormons have been around forever. They actually date back to the 1820s. In 1823 a young lad by the name of Joseph Smith sought Gods wisdom as to what church he should belong to. Some speculate that he went into the woods to do this while others claim that he did it from his bedroom. He states that the Angel Maroni summoned him and called him by name and stipulated to him that he had great works for God to do. He was directed to finding some golden plates where the instructions and historical episodes that had taken place centuries ago. Joseph claimed that the everlasting gospel was contained on these plates.

Joseph apparently was able to locate these plates through a vision. The plates were buried in a hill called Mora. The instructions also included that he was not to remove the plates nor was he to show them to anyone. The story goes that the next day Joseph was so exhausted from these visions that his father had to send him back home from work. During that time he collapsed. and apparently the Angel Maroni appeared to him again and repeated the message. Joseph told his father about these happenings.

Ironically Joseph’s father believed him and sent him to where he was to find the plates. Apparently Joseph found them as per instructions and buried them again for a period of four years. The Angel Maroni returned and instructed Joseph and every year he made a pilgrimage to this site. Then in 1827 Joseph came up with the plates but was forced to hide them because of those that wanted to sell them.

Apparently during this translation time other people did witness these plates as there are testimonies in the book of Mormon concerning this. After Joseph finished translating the gold plates then the book of Mormon came into being.

It is ironic that with Josephs three years of formal education that the book was very complex and articulate. Joseph claimed that it was the power of God that gave him the ability to be able to do this. According to the story Joseph would just concentrate and have a great deal of faith. Due to the difficulty of the translation it was said that Joseph would sit with the plates and verbally give the translation. His wife gives quite an account of this tim and states that Joseph was working on this book and how he would be able to return to where he left off with no problem. One would think that this would take many years to do but apparently the translation only talk a matter of three months and there were several scribes that would write as Joseph dictated.

One of these scribes was Oliver Cowdery that upheld the validity of the book with great fevor, to the point where he stipulated that by only obeying the book of Mormons would one get into the kingdom of heaven.

I intend with the help of God to make this article the first in a series of writings that will detail my personal journey to walk with a divinely guided human being. I wish to speak of the benefits I have personally received as a student of The Hon. Louis Farrakhan.

My life has been radically changed for the better. I was once like a blind man, but as the Bible says, “I used to be blind, but now I see.” I regained my eyesight as a direct result of being a student under the leadership of The Hon. Louis Farrakhan, The National representative of The Hon. Elijah Muhammad. I give thanks daily for the change that has come over my life by hearing the teachings revealed by Master Fard Muhammad. I have gone from the low life to a higher life of righteousness by accepting these teachings.

My New Beginning

“Unless he repents, believes, and works righteous deeds, for Allah will change the evil of such persons into good, and Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.” (Qur’an 25:70)

The above quote from the Holy Qur’an, the scripture for Muslims, talks about a transformation. This particular Ayat(Verse) speaks of the historical transformation which Prophet Muhammad(PBUH) brought 1400 years ago. However, The Qur’an is a book and guide for all times up to the Day of Judgment. Therefore, the transformative powers of ALLAH’s words in the Qur’an are still able to transform individuals, societies and nations.

The man you see me striving to be today is not the man I was 15 years ago. I was once considered a lost, hopeless wayward man with no goals in life. However, by the greatness of God’s grace, I was able to transform my life by hearing the message of The Million Man March. My first step toward this greater journey was by the process of atonement.

I didn’t know, at the time, that I was just taking the first step towards a larger-lifelong journey with a servant of God as my personal guide. Through the years of my journey I have been able to make something better out of my life, but I still see the need for further improvements. My life is a small example that you can be down, but with God’s grace you can be raised up from ignorance. My life’s motto is what they say in the church: “God is not through with me yet.” I continue to work daily to improve myself and others who come in my path.

Since my journey began, I have made the following changes:

#1 I earned my GED after dropping out from high school.

#2 I entered college to achieve “higher education” .

#3 I developed a personal relationship with my Creator.

#4 I have become active in my community through mentor-ship, volunteering and sharing my story of redemption.

#5 I was able to become a Student in the Ministry, something I could have never foresaw in a million years, which allows me to touch many with a word which can do for them what it did for me.

There are many more accomplishment I have achieved which space won’t permit. I am thankful to ALLAH everyday for giving me a new lease on life and a chance to study and show myself approved.

I would like to invite you at this time to journey with The Hon. Louis Farrakhan as he shows us the way to attain a personal relationship with our Creator and thus fulfill the purpose for our creation.

There is no argument that the Mormons will not use the cross as a symbol of Christianity. What they will argue with is because of this it does not make them any less of being a Christian. It must be remembered that the early Christians did not use the cross as a symbol either and the answer to this is because the believer must look beyond the cross and to the resurrection. Emphasis should not be put on the suffering aspects but on the joy and promise of life.

Its quite ironic that the Mormons have the very same complaint as the Christians in that stating Christians will play with words in order to attack the doctrine of the Latter Day Saints. The whole premise comes down with respect to this issue that suffering is respected and remembered and sacrifice is as well.

However, the look of the future must be placed on the resurrection and that it really should not be remembered that Christ went through the torture and humiliation. This is not what the emphasis should be put on.

To put their argument in a common picture they have used examples. For example if an individual had a loved one that was struck by a car and killed then they wouldn’t put pictures of cars on their wall to remember the. loved ones by.

And this has given new status to the next staggering statement we made, that there ought to be one church. Time was when the churches rejoiced in diversity, when they said, we are enriched by our differences, when the standard approach to conflict was, God has taken account of all the individual traits of men and therefore does not require the same patterns for any set of men. All of us can speak for him and with him and by him. We need not worry.

In the final closure of this part of the argument is the Mormons will put great emphasis on not worshiping graven images which they feel that the cross is a well but in the same breath they tell you that it is not wrong to have pictures for example or even a statue but it must be remembered that they are not the object of worship.

One of the latest great debates when it comes to Mormons is determining if their religion is Mormon or Christian or is one and the same thing. In the eyes of the Mormon the answer to that question is yes. There has been a great attempt in the last little while for the Mormons to stand on the grounds of Christianity more so than they have in the past.

It is interesting to note that in 1982 the book of Mormon’s name was given a name with reference to the Testament of Jesus Christ.

Then in 1995 the official letterhead changed to take on a larger stance of the Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints. Even one of the leaders states that the church talks a lot more now about Jesus Christ than it used to because they want to show people that they are Christians.

It would appear on the surface a great effort is put into convincing nonbelievers that the Mormons stand on the very same basis that Christianity does. On the surface it may seem this way although when one begins to become well-versed in the Mormon religion they see the vast differences.

It would seem that there are even differences of the union of Christianity amongst the leaders in the congregation of the Mormons themselves. Interestingly enough a past president stated that he definitely was a Christian and had prayer through Christ and tried to follow him and when asked further whether he believes in the traditional Christ his answer was no he didn’t. He states that the non-Mormons are not speaking of the same Christ whom he believes in. At the beginning of Mormonism they took a great stance against being classed as a Christian denomination for the simple reason that they believed that there was a great apostasy that included all of the Christians and they did not want to be counted as part of that.

Joseph Smiths claim was that the Latter-day Saints Church was the only true church. Brigham Youngs comment about Christians is that the current day Christians are not the Christians that are defined in the New Testament. He even goes on to say that Catholics and Protestants are nothing less than the whore of Babylon. Then again another leader goes on to say that the darkness of the apostasy still is the same today except for those that have come to know what he calls the restored gospel which is of course the Joseph Smith Doctrine.

It is easy to see when one looks over all the explanations of what these leaders stand for that they certainly do not equate themselves as what society sees Christianity as.

Most of the Mormons believe that the Christians of today are selfish and do not maintain the law according to the Mormons. They claim that they never criticize other beliefs and yet they have made some pretty staunch statements against Christians. So this again is just one more fallacy of the religion itself when it comes to making one statement at one time and then totally changing at another time.
