Ken Copeland was born at Lubbork, Texas on December 6, 1939. He was the founder of a Christian Organization called Kenneth Copeland Ministries. Ken had converted to Christianity on November 1962 and was a well known author, speaker and a televangelist.
Before his conversion to Christianity, Ken Copeland was a recording artist of partial Native American decent. His performances like his works of Billboard appeared in the top 40 hits. His work “Pledge of Love” made a place in the top 40’s on Apr 20, 1957 and continued there for about eight weeks. A 12th rank was the highest level it could reach.
After conversion he worked hard on Christian Ministry works. He was the chauffeur for Oral Roberts in the 1960s. Later he did get an enrollment at Oral Roberts University which is located in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Oral Roberts University Boards of Regents was one of the board formed at Oral Roberts University with Ken Copeland being its main member till 2008. Later on a different board came up which assured a higher standards of financial accountability. This new board was created due to a case which blamed the University for performing wrong financial and political acts during October 2007. George Pearson who was the chairman of the board of Oral Toberts University till January 2008 got married with Ken Copeland’s eldest daughter named Terri.
During 1970’s the Kenneth Copeland Ministries became more popular and in 1979 the “Believer’s Voice of Victory” made its first appearance on television. The ministries Headquarter are based in Newark, Texas and its international locations are in Australia, Africa, Canada, United Kingdom and Ukraine. In about 23 Countries these ministries have been active in ministry of prison inmate.
Ken Copeland did get some criticism for his teachings on different subjects. His teachings on “Word Faith Movement”, claims on faith healing and claim on Bible believers of getting hundredfold returns on their giving’s (as per Genesis 26:12, Mark 4:20, Mark 10:29-30, Luke 6:38, II Corinthians 9:6-12 and Galatians 3:13-14 of the Bible) were widely criticized.
His most famous teaching was to praise god during morning, noon and night. He wanted everyone should praise god during the day. Praise him for the freedom, healing and for Calvary. People questioned Ken Copeland the meaning of the phrase “Born Again” which was given for the first time by Lord Jesus.
