It was on December 6, 1936, when the founder of the Kenneth Copeland Ministries was brought forth to the world. Kenneth Copeland is distinguished as an author of best-selling books in America, a great preacher and a televangelist.

Ken Copeland was only 25 years old when he and his wife, Gloria Copeland had turned their backs away from sin and had accepted Christ as their personal Savior. It was on November 2, 1962 when they started their journey as Christians.

Before, life was not easy for Gloria and Ken. They were unsuccessful in life and were battling with the financial issues. It was until he went to Oral Roberts University and worked for as a co-pilot. Being a co-pilot, he then had the opportunity to listen and study Oral Roberts closely. He heard him preach and have seen him cure on the sick. Attending with these healing ministries, he himself developed the gift of healing which he used later on.

The most unforgettable experience of Ken Copeland was when the time he was called to the work of God. It was just one of those healing meeting of Oral Roberts. He was assigned to help a room filled with sick people waiting for Oral Roberts to lay his hands upon them. This is the first time he was surrounded with individuals suffering from various diseases and ailments. When Oral Roberts finally get in, instead of laying his hands in these people, he passed the task to Ken. He told him that Ken will lead the prayer and lay his hands in them. Ken admits that he is still not matured spiritually. Moreover, he was shocked because he never prayed before. In front of him was a lady suffering from cancer. Confused and panicked, he heard a voice behind him telling the lady to get up and walk in the name of Jesus. After those words, she spitted out the cancer, got up and walked. She jumped for joy and was shouting of praises and thanks that finally, she was healed. This is the moment that made him turned his back completely away from sin.

Even after he left the university in 1967, the urge of hearing the word God continues. He and his wife continued studying and share the gained light from other people in their community. Eventually, he established a ministry in 1968 wherein a small group grew into a large worship and prayer meeting.

Ken and Gloria began started out their own newsletter known as the Believer’s Voice of Victory in 1973. Three years later, the radio broadcast of it was launched. In 1981, it had reached the world through communication satellites. The ministry has reached England, Philippines, South Africa, Canada, Hong Kong and Australia. The Time magazine had even acknowledged him as the chief component of the faith movement.

With Christ in their life, they still face trials in life. They already knew it that the more you are close to God, the more trials you will receive. But the trials do not mean obstacles in life. They are God’s ways of making you stronger. It is a test of faith. And they did overcome these.

Ken and Gloria continue their journey as Christians up to this moment, passing the light that they received to those people who have not. They have God leading the way and guiding them to tell the world about His love.
